The Vocal Gym
The culmination of my years of experience, based on my 4-pillars philosophy
It started during the 2020 COVID pandemic as the entire a cappella community ground to a halt. To simply get people singing again, I started leading weekly “vocal workout” sessions for the singers of Techapella. From August to November, I watched it blossom into a consistent, tight-knit community of singers, many of whom were learning technique and good habits for the first time. That was when I decided to turn it into a standalone program.
Weekly live (Monday nights PST) group vocal workouts, each centered on a specific topic, strengthen the voice while reinforcing best practices.

Private Lessons
Together, we tailor a path to developing and cementing your healthy vocal habits so that you can sing the music you want to sing.
A typical 1:1 class:
5 min: Check in. What has come up in your exploration since our last lesson? What would you like to work on?
5 min: General warm-up, preparing the voice and body to stretch into new abilities
10 min: Targeted exercises that build new muscle memory
20 min: Dive into the song that you’ve chosen, integrating the exercises that we’ve just covered.
Along the way, you will ask questions about your voice and how the exercises work, and we will discuss the mechanics, look at anatomical diagrams, spectrograms, and more to understand the inner workings of your voice.

My identity as a singer and director solidified when I was introduced to the world of a cappella. I’m motivated to help others find the same musical belonging and fulfillment that I have.
